Trust Bank PLC signed agreements with Bangladesh Bank to participate in two refinance schemes aimed at developing CMSME clusters and supporting MSMEs nationwide on Monday.
The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar, with Executive Director Husne Ara Shikha, Director SME&SPD Nawshad Mustafa, and senior officials from Bangladesh Bank present.
Trust Bank MD and CEO Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury signed the agreements on behalf of the bank. The refinance schemes allocate Tk3,000 crore for CMSME clusters and Tk1,500 crore for MSME growth. Entrepreneurs will access financing at a concessional interest rate of 7 per cent.
A total of 24 banks and five non-banking financial institutions also signed agreements to participate in the initiatives. Trust Bank’s involvement highlights its focus on promoting entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and sustainable economic growth in Bangladesh.
